Sports psychology deals with
the psychological factors associated with participation
and performance in sports, exercise, and other types
of physical activity. Sports psychology has three main objectives:
» Performance enhancement:
helping athletes use psychological principles to improve
performance.
» Understanding the effects
of participation in sports, exercise and physical activity
on individual psychological development, health,
and well-being throughout your life
span.
» Injury prevention, such as
from multiple concussions.
Having worked extensively with professional, Olympic, Ironman
and amateur, bi-athletes, gymnasts, runners, cyclists, swimmers
and skiers, Dr. Diane assists individual athletes and sports
teams, at all levels of ability, with performance enhancement
and clinical issues. She also functions as a team consultant.
Performance Enhancement Workshops are available to coaches,
trainers and administrators.
